Today's ghosties

I walked into Nori's house after coffee this afternoon and she said, "Oh! There's a black shadow by the door there." I was pushing the wheel chair into the kitchen and her friend Maggie was right behind me. Once I closed the door behind us I could immediately feel a presence. A shiver of energy went right up my body from toes to head and my eyes got glassy. I walked into the studio and asked who was there and what they wanted.

The presence felt like a man and he was still there; just further into the front room. He said he liked to be in the studio and that he often comes down when she is out. I told Nori this. It didn't phase her at all. I think she quite likes to have spirits around. Maggie said that perhaps he used to live in the house and that felt right to me as well. I didn't have the feeling that he was the original owner but he hasn't lived there recently. He told me that he usually stays upstairs and only comes down when she's out.

I have been in and out of Nori's house a lot over the last three years and I have never felt him before. He really must stay out of sight, so-to-speak. That's all we got. He doesn't mean her any harm and she's not bothered in the least.

This evening I have been puzzling about why he was there today. Why show himself now? I did wonder if this is related at all to my trip up to see Janet in the Yukon. When I give a talk, might this be something that people would want to know about? I don't have a huge amount of experience with ghosts but what I do have tells me that I can feel them and I can talk to them. Maggie was interested because we validated the feeling that she had when we walked in and reacted to the ghost/spirit, that she said she might not have trusted if she had been on her own.
