Keeping positive by Firing the Grid

I was talking to my friend Ruth in Scotland today and, among other things, she reminded me of how important my thoughts are. I have had this reminder frequently over the last few months. It must be a theme! Talking with Ruth is such a lovely way to be reminded. I always feel better when I get off the phone, even when she is feeling burdened herself. Somehow, we manage to lift one another. And isn't that what friendship is all about? I have several friends like that and I feel very fortunate.

Before I began blogging today, I went back and re-read my piece about listening for the 'whoosh'. (June 17, 2007) I needed to remind myself that all is well on our little blue planet, third from the sun. It seems to have been my day for talking to friends, although one of them wasn't home. The one who was home when I called was talking about knowing that change is just around the corner. He suggested that we have to sit still and be patient and not give up. He reminded me about the movement afoot to 'Fire the Grid'. It is a global commitment to fire the grid together on Tuesday, the 17th of July at 11:10(a.m.) GMT. For us on the Pacific Coast of NA, that will be 4:10 in the morning. I think I'll just have to stay up even later than usual.

I've just been to the You Tube site (linked above) and listened to the whole talk by the originator of the 'Fire the Grid' idea, Shelley Yates. It was easy to listen to and a good reminder, as I was already aware of her and her story. I can't remember now who first sent it to me but I read it on her web site. It wasn't in video format at that point. July 17th was a long way off and I put it on a back burner. For those of you who aren't meditators, or new age types, or religious, she's just suggesting that you do something for an hour that brings you joy, and that you express your gratitude for it. The joy and the gratitude are about raising your vibration level at the same time as loads of other people around the world. It makes sense to me. It isn't even 'woo-woo'!

In the meantime I am committing myself, RE-committing myself, to being positive, looking for the positive, and appreciating it and being grateful for it when I find it.
